At Webfuel we believe in developing close, ongoing business partnerships with all our clients enabling us to deliver the most valuable online business solutions for them.
Whether you require a website, online store or bespoke application, by understanding you, your business, your audience and your prospective customers we can use our in-depth understanding of the Internet to provide you with a uniquely tailored solution that will enable you to achieve your business goals.
Webfuel follow a structured process during the design and build process of your site or application, ensuring that you are consulted and aware of progress throughout the project and that the final product strengthens your business, generating those all important enquiries and sales.
Step 1: Consultation Workshop ------------------------------------------------------------
Upon acceptance of our initial proposal the first step in the process will be to complete a workshop with you to enable us to gain a more thorough understanding of your business and your current online presence. Your online strategy should not only provide an excellent return on investment but should also be a driving force in achieving your overall business objectives.
Step 2: Competitor Analysis ----------------------------------------------------------------
Having gained an understanding of you and your business we'll perform online research of your competitors, looking both at direct competitors and also businesses you aspire to. We'll research their market position to ensure that you have an online face which matches your aspirations, feeding back to you any thoughts and ideas that can be used to strengthen your focus. We'll also analyse their keyword strategies and search engine positions to ensure we can match or better these for your own site, gaining you an advantage in the market place.
Step 3: Specification --------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will then develop a specification to meet the needs of your business strategy, your audience and your industry. This will consist of a detailed map of the pages within your site or application, ideal keyword strategies for search engines if appropriate, (including file naming strategies, optimised content potential, and site structure development) and a list of any modules used in the site (e.g. content management, newsletters, e-commerce).
Step 4: Specifications Signoff ---------------------------------------------------------------
At this stage, we ask you to approve our plan, structure, and specifications. Only when these meet with your approval will we begin the work, ensuring the end result of the project wil match your expectations and business needs.
Step 5: Graphic Design ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once the plans for the site have been agreed we will assign a graphic designer to your project based on the look and feel your are trying to achieve. We will initially produce a flat image of the homepage, you may choose to take this design forward or we may run through a few different homepage designs before we hit on a design that you feel is the one for you. If you require branding, newsletter design, or anything else graphics based then this is the stage when these elements will be taken forward.
Step 6: Design Signoff -----------------------------------------------------------------------
At this stage we will ask you to signoff a homepage and inner page design prior to starting the build of the site. We will not ask you to sign anything off until you are completely happy with the designs produced.
Step 7 - Site Development ------------------------------------------------------------------
Our development team will then take the design elements and build the site using XHTML and CSS for sites and asp.net for applications. Along with compliance to WCAG Priority 1 accessibility, Webfuel also provide browser compatibility for these browsers as standard:
Step 8: Content Generation ----------------------------------------------------------------
You may choose to use existing content, write new content or have us write your content for you. Whatever the case we'll be on hand to offer guidance and advice, making sure the copy is both user and search engine friendly. If you are having an ecommerce site then the store admin area will be available at this point allowing you to add products, images and descriptions. We will provide training for this if required.
Step 9: Search Engine Optimisation -------------------------------------------------------
Search Engine Optimisation contributes to all areas of the development process from file naming strategies to the content and structure. Prior to launch we will complete any remaining SEO work required such as the addition of title, description and keyword metatags, and alt tags to images.
Step 10: Quality Assurance -----------------------------------------------------------------
Once the site is completed our testers will review the site against our thorough QA process, testing all elements including functionality, links, graphics and copy.
Step 11: Final Approval ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once the site has passed the rigorous QA we pass it to you for a final review and signoff.
Step 12: Launch -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you entirely satisfied and signoff the project, we launch it.
Our partnership does not end here! We will closely monitor the site or application looking at usage, search engine position and user feedback, ensuring the site delivers your original business requirements. We will keep you informed of progress and discuss the ways in which we can take the project to the next level.
